Two Good Runs

Two Good Runs

The Car Crafters, Mollenkopf/Guthrie racing team had another decent showing last night at I-44 speedway. Adam and Sean were starting 3rd and 6th in the first non wing heat race, pulling on the track a radiator hose fell off of Adam's car. Sean made a mistake on the start and fell all the way to 8th. Then he made a charge on the top side to make it back to 5th place.

The B-main was a New Mexico sandwich Sean on the pole and Adam coming from the back. Sean and another car checked out and behind them was a 10 car race for the transfer spot. Sean ended up running 2nd to make the A and Adam was somewhere around 10th place.

Sean started in 18th in the A-main, made a couple nice moves to miss wrecks and made his way near the top 10 the first half of the race. He jumped a wheel and tore up the front panhard bar, got into the fence a couple laps later and fell back to 15th. With the front panhard bar broken he ran down and passed the guy for 14th in the last corner.

Overall it was a great trip, alot of fun, and a huge learning experience for the team.

Johnny Herrera and Josh Hodges both picked up heat race wins last night at USA Raceway park with the Southwest Region. Johnny also picked up the Main Event win, over Rick Zeihl, John Carney and Josh Hodges.

My next trip is going to be april 24th to Tularosa, NM with the Car Crafters Team again to be crew chief for Sean Guthrie's #18.
