Inside Line Promotions – OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (June 3, 2017) – Holley Hollan, Jeffrey Newell and Kale Drake registered firsts on Saturday during the final round of the Driven Midwest USAC NOW600 National Micro Series presented by MyRacePass Sooner 600 Week.
Hollan claimed her first career Stock Non-Wing win with the series as Newell won his first-ever NOW600 Winged ‘A’ Class event and Drake scored his series first Restricted ‘A’ Class triumph during the speedweek finale hosted by I-44 Riverside Speedway.
Meanwhile, Frank Flud won the Stock Non-Wing and Winged ‘A’ Class Sooner 600 Week titles and Daison Pursley was crowned the Restricted ‘A’ Class champion of the inaugural Sooner 600 Week, which featured six races – all co-sanctioned with the Driven Midwest NOW600 Sooner Region – at four tracks in nine days.
Hollan took advantage of drawing the pole position for the Stock Non-Wing main event, but it wasn’t easy as Flud maneuvered from fifth to the runner-up result. Chris Cochran placed third with Holden Anderson fourth and Dillon Conrad fifth.
Cochran, Cody Carter and Weston Miller were the heat race winners.
Newell also duked it out with Flud for the Winged ‘A’ Class main event before scoring the win. Phillip Fessler rounded out the podium as Alison Slated placed fourth and Brandon Boggs maneuvered from 12th to fifth.
Flud, Newell and Fessler each recorded a heat race triumph.
Drake outlasted Gunner Bowden to claim the Restricted ‘A’ Class victory, which makes six winners in 11 races this season. Ryder Laplante finished third with Pursley charging from 12th to fourth. Chase Randall ended fifth.
Drake, Kayden Cole and Rees Moran produced heat race wins.
The Driven Midwest USAC NOW600 National Micro Series will resume competition on June 30 at Wichita Speedway in Iowa Park, Texas, and July 1 at 281 Speedway in Stephenville, Texas.
