OKLAHOMA CITY – Back to the Sooner State, where he’s made most of his appearances in 2015, Bradley Fezard and team on the road to Oklahoma City's I-44 Riverside Speedway for the "Mini Sprint Nationals". Enduring awful luck throughout the season, Fezard hoped that the madness would stop, but the event proved to have more of the same in store. Between the skies opening up making for a muddy mess on Friday night, to a flat tire in a transfer spot Saturday, Fezard had another one of "those" weekends.
Friday night started with a long wait as rain fell for quite some time. Once the rain subsided, there was a lot of track work to be done. Finally, Fezard, competing in the outlaw division, was able to take his No. 58 Stallard onto the track. Rolling off in the sixth position for his heat race, he quickly discovered passing would be nearly nonexistent on the rough and heavy surface, and he would take the checkered flag in the same spot.
With qualifiers next on the docket, Fezard aligned his machine inside row five. The fifth-mile oval, still full of moisture from the earlier weather, was lightning quick. He did his best to fight through the starting field, and after a rough start, he was able to rebound and finish the night off with a sixth-place finish.
Only the main events would be contested on night two. Based off his accumulated points from the previous night, Fezard was scheduled to start from the fifth spot. The top ten would earn transfers into the $1,000-to-win Outlaw A-Main. At the beginning of the race, Fezard fell to sixth, but retained the position for nearly the entire race. Crossing the stripe under the white flag, the handling of the Amsoil Army entry immediately went away. With a flat left rear tire, Fezard attempted to limp back around the speedway a final time, but narrowly missed the final transfer spot, taking the 11th position.
Fezard would like to thank Brandon’s Ranch and Aaron’s Powdercoating, as well as his mom and dad, Frank Galusha at Eagle Motorsports Inc, Justin Lovins with ML Amsoil, and his great fans for their continued support.
